Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. They encouraged her not to pursue music solely for fun or to aid in growing, but that she must explore it. As a result, she started writing her own music. Alongside Bjork as well, she mentions Leonard Cohen as an influence. The singer decided to perform her music in public when her mom suggested they can help other people, not be famous with her work but to make people see around them realize the importance of their work and how they could impact the world. The piano was her first instrument at the age of six, and began writing music at age nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday that she told her parents. Aurora's accomplishments were never her goal. Her sole passion is to write music. According to her, she believes that music can help any person feel better.
